Welcome in folks’! I’m here to provide you with my favorite bets of the week. I will offer picks ATS (against the spread), O/U (over/under total points) and pick some moneyline upsets. Let’s jump right in!
Last week I went 3-3 ATS. 3-5 on O/U and 4-5 on ML underdog picks!
Week one total: 10-16 (62.5%)
*Favorites in bold.
Maryland @ FlU Open Line: -9.5 Current Line: -11.5
FIU hosts its second consecutive B1G team on Friday night. For the second straight week I’m rolling with the B1G on the road. I really like Maryland QB Perry Hills and his ability to run with the football. Alex McGough struggled against Indiana with 3 interceptions.
The Pick: Maryland 42, FIU 27.
Eastern Michigan @ Missouri Open Line: -25.5 Current Line: -24.5
I may regret making this pick after Saturday. I am going to take the points with Eastern Michigan in this one. EMU QB Brogan Roback may play in this one which gives the Eagles a great chance to keep it close. RB Shaq Vann can grind out first downs and give the Eagles a shot. Missouri still has issues putting points on the board and the defense was torched by WVU last weekend. Missouri gets the win, but not by 24 or more.
The Pick: Missouri 31, Eastern Michigan 17
UCF @ 5 Michigan Open Line:-34.5 Current Line: -35
Michigan proved me wrong last week when I said “I don’t think they will make a statement win and do it by 40+” instead they did it by 60! UCF has a decent QB in Justin Holman but the Wolverines proved they are loaded on defense last week! The offense seemed to be rolling right out of the gate. I like Michigan here, not by 60, but by at least 35.
The Pick: Michigan 49, UCF 6
Washington State @ Boise State Open Line: -11 Current Line: -11
Washington State rolls into Boise fresh off a loss to another FCS program. Boise State ran all over ULL in a dominating win in week 1. Boise has the advantage when it comes to defense. Washington State’s defense was gutted by Eastern Washington last weekend and now faces Brett Rypien and the Broncos offense. Luke Falk will be the story in this game. Wazzou has the firepower to keep it close and I think they'll do just that.
The Pick: Boise State 45, Washington State 38
Penn State @ Pittsburgh Open Line: -6 Current Line: -4.5
This game is going to be a offensive nightmare for both teams. Penn State and Pitt have good defenses. It also is a tail of the RB’s. Penn State Saquon Barkley is one of the best backs in the B1G. maybe the country. James Connor is a fantastic story and is still considered a top RB in the ACC. QB play will decide this game, all it will take is one big play. I’m taking the points and a Penn State win in this tight matchup.
The Pick: Penn State 14, Pittsburgh 10
*Lock it Up Pick: Middle Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Open Line- 6.5 Current Line: -4.5
The Pick: Middle Tennessee 21, Vanderbilt 17
