When you have a guy who is tough matchup for any team, Georges Niang. Top notch point guard, Monte Morris. Add in the threat of Deonte Burton and Jameel McKay. We have a title team. Sleeper: Texas Longhorns-It is really hard for me to count out Shaka Smart when it comes to a tournament. Isaiah Taylor, can carry the team. They would love to have Cameron Ridley back as an added threat. Players To Watch: Jameel McKay, Iowa State: McKay is a walking double-double. Iowa State will need him to be the man on the boards this tournament. He has had 17 more rebounds three times this season. Isaiah Taylor, Texas: Taylor is looking better and better under Shaka Smart. The Longhorns will need him to perform at a high level. In games where he struggled, they lost. Small Sample; Kansas 5 points, (loss) Baylor 10 points, (loss) Iowa State 9 points, loss. Justin Edwards, Kansas State: If the big 12 is going to explode it is likely because Edwards went off. |
