What to do on Game Days
#1 Stop by Chandlers. Located on the east side of Knoxville. They serve southern food and kool aid.
#2 Drive over to the stadium, you can park around the stadium free of charge.
#3 Take a walk around campus nearby are the fraternity houses, Thompson Boling Arena, and Neyland Stadium.
#4 As soon as you walk in head straight to the concession stand to grab a nice cold drink and a hot dog.
#5 Enjoy your day/night at Lindsey Nelson!

University of Tennessee Overview
Lindsey Nelson Stadium: The entrance is hopefully going to be changed with the future renovations. It's just a solid concrete block with the Lindsey Nelson on it. The 1st baseline is the best part of the stadium. They have a nice porch, bleacher seats, and some of the VIP seats. The VIP seats are nice and cushioned.These seats are located at the lower level behind home plate. The seats at the top level are plastic with the power T in the center. The bleachers down the 1st baseline are apart of general admission. They give you nice field level views and have the traditional silver bleachers with orange backrests. The 3rd baseline continues the plastic seats and more VIP seats. They also have seats that aren't attached to the main portion of the concourse. These seats aren't dont fit the general look of the stadium but give you nice views of the game. The only outfield seats are in left field, they call this section the porch. They have 8 different sections throughout with a picnic tables, grill, and rocking chairs. Great views form the porch and my favorite part of the stadium. The views from behind home plate are also nice, a view of the Tennessee hills. The wall in center field serves as a batters eye.
The stadium was above average and most of the issues I have with the stadium should be fixed with the next two phases of upgrades.
Phase 3: 16 luxury boxes. New Press box tower, could get rid of the concrete block entrance. Also, a left field entrance and more seating down the third baseline.
Phase 4: 1000 more seats added down the 3rd baseline. This would take care of the different sit of seats that aren't attached. New restrooms and concessions will also be added. Hopefully with the new seats this will expand the concourse. Walking down and seeing all the equipment, trucks, and cars is a down side.
Scoreboard: Overall a nice scoreboard. It's big enough to read from any seat in the stadium. The video board is also a nice size.
Knoxville: If you are staying in the downtown area make sure you check out, Market Square it's a beautiful open area filled with plenty of restaurants and live entertainment. Gay St is also a popular stop for the locals. Great restaurants, the Downtown Grill and Brewery and just down the street the Mast General Store, when you walk in you'll feel like you are in the old south. If you are in town early you can visit the Movie Theater also on Gay Street which is top notch. For the 21 and older crowd take a look at the old city. The old city has plenty of bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Also near campus is the UT strip, plenty of restaurants, bars, and fast food.
Campus: The UT campus has its positives and negatives. The campus is very large with lots of roads throughout.Not a big fan of all the roads. The best part of Tennessee's campus is the hill. The hill is located on the east side of campus behind Neyland Stadium. Ayers hall is located here and is the gem of the buildings on campus. The library is located in the center of campus.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was weak. Even "Rocky Top" couldn't get the fans going. The Vols did have the Lady Vols playing softball at the same time, which could have taken away from the atmosphere. Also, the baseball team has fallen on hard times. Having not made the SEC tournament in 4 years and a coaching change in motion, I expect new energy into the baseball program in the coming years.
Chandlers: If you're looking for some southern comfort head over to Chandlers. On the menu you can find chicken, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and my favorite Mac & Cheese. Add in some Kool Aid and you have me sold! It's about a 10 minute drive from the stadium.
