College Football Trending Teams After Week 5
Up
Troy
The Trojans went into Death Valley and came out victors. That's a tough task for any team at any time. RB Jordan Chunn is a large reason on why the Trojans won the game. He had 190 yards on the ground. The Troy D continued to make big plays and held the Tigers to 0 3rd down conversions.
Troy is now on a 4 game win streak heading into the bulk of conference play.
Next Up: South Alabama 10/11
Winner: 45-20
Washington State
Fox sports posted a tweet about get to know Luke Falk. If you have been following us the past few years you were more than familiar with him. Washington State got the big win they were searching for over USC. The defense has been getting better and better the last few seasons. This years looks to be the best. The big question is can they beat Washington at the end of the season? The Huskies have dominated them the past couple seasons.
Next Up: At Oregon
Winner: Washington State 40-30
UCF
Memphis was the hottest team in AAC play until the UCF game. Scott Frost has the team playing at another level. The biggest game of the year will be when they face off vs USF at the end of the season for the division title. Welcome back to the top 25, Golden Knights.
Next Up: At Cincinnati
Winner: 36-17
Down
Tennessee
I gave them until the Georgia game. That game went really well, 41-0. Butch Jones has to go. He has had 4 years to get his players in. All the well Dooley left him with nothing is over. Looking at the QB position does it look like things are going to get better? No. Time to cut ties.
Next Up: South Carolina
Winner: South Carolina 26-23
Miss State
Well, this is my first trending up team to land on the trending down list. Back to back opportunities to beat Georgia and Auburn, they got destroyed. It's back to being average in SEC play for the Bulldogs.
Next Up: BYU 10/14
Winner: Miss State 36-14
Iowa
They had a big let down when they had Penn State on the ropes. Bounce back vs Michigan State program? Na. With two losses in conference play chances at winning the Big Ten West is out the window.
Next Up: Illinois
Winner: Iowa 37-17
