2014 NFL Mock Draft
By Tyler Smith 5/2/2014
The NFL Draft has become one of the biggest sporting events of the year. Now it's broken up into three days with round one all to itself on Thursday night. My mock draft isn't based off of what others are saying, but what I would do in each teams situation.

My PickJadeveon Clowney South Carolina DE
No other option here, Clowney over everyone else. Greg Robinson Auburn OT Rams need to address the tackle position. OT isn't deep, take the tackle while you can. Khalil Mack Buffalo OLB A freak athlete that is versatile. Sammy Watkins Clemson WR Watkins seems like a can't miss pick. How can the Browns pass him up? Johnny Manziel Texas A&M QB Finally a QB comes off the board. Manziel is the only top QB due to a high upside, but he is still a gamble. Jake Matthews Texas A&M OT Consistently great tackle in college, that's NFL ready. Mike Evans Texas A&M WR Mike Evans, makes plays. Plain and simple. C.J. Mosley Alabama LB The defense was bad in Minnesota. Mosley improves it. Taylor Lewan Michigan OT Need to protect Manuel, Lewan is a good fit. Darqueze Dennard Michigan State DB Dennard was the top corner in CFB. He will make an immediate impact for the Lions. Anthony Barr UCLA LB Adding Barr to the Titans would add depth to the 3-4 scheme. Eric Ebron North Carolina TE Eli Manning would be happy to have a big play TE again. Calvin Pryor Louisville S Pryor makes plays and hits hard. Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix Alabama S Clinton-Dix will start from day one. Justin Gilbert Oklahoma State CB Gilbert has good size, Steelers would be a good fit for him. Timmy Jernigan Florida State DT A lot of questions if he fits the Cowboys scheme. Hard to pass up his talent though. Zack Martin Notre Dame G Martin has a high football IQ and will make an impact quickly for the Ravens. Brandin Cooks Oregon State WR The Jets have to do more than Decker. Cooks has speed, lots of speed. Xavier Su'a-Filo UCLA OG The Dolphins have holes on the line. Teddy Bridgewater Louisville QB Don't think that Bridgewater "dropped" this is where he should be picked. Austin Seferian-Jenkins Washington TE Some have him as a second round pick, Packers fill a need. Passing attack just got that more dangerous. Da'Vante Adams Fresno State WR I've been very high on Adams. He doesn't have the buzz that others have, but this guys got it. Allen Robinson Penn State WR Another WR not getting the buzz. Robinson can make plays on the deep ball and short passes. Jeremiah Attaochu Georgia Tech LB Attaochu can get after the passer. Not as polished as other LBs, but he will get there. Aaron Donald Pittsburgh DT I'm not as high on Donald as many others. Still a good talent and fit for the Chargers. Derrick Carr Fresno State QB Carr would be a good move for the Browns. Will he be here in a QB draft happy league, I'm not sure. Marqise Lee USC WR Give Drew Brees another dangerous target. Jordan Matthews Vanderbilt WR The Panthers have to draft a WR after getting rid of nearly every WR on the roster. Matthews could be special. Ra'Shede Hageman Minnesota DT Hageman could be a star at DT. Great size and power. Bradley Roby Ohio State CB The 49ers needs a corner. It would hard to pass up, Roby. Kyle Van Noy BYU LB Van Noy can do a little bit of everything from the LB position. Odell Beckham Jr LSU WR Giving Russell Wilson another threat on offesnse seems logical here. |
