Quick Thoughts
UCF is the king of the conference once again. Dillon Gabriel emerged as the next big QB at UCF and Knight fans will be glad to have him around for at least another year. He will be well protected by a line that brings back 3 starters and adds a grad transfer, Marcus Tatum, who should start right away. Receiver won't be an issue with Tre Nixon, Marlon Williams and Jacob Harris back. Look for Jaylon Robinson to be a game changer.
UCF will be strong again on defense. Eight starters are back including four from the secondary. This group allowed under 200 yards passing last season. Expect them to be a top 20 secondary in the county. Hard to find a true weakness on defense. The line returns a lot of experience and linebacker is in good hands with Eriq Gilyard.
12-0. That is where I have UCF this season. Key games will be UC, at Memphis and North Carolina. The Knights want to get back to their standard, AAC title and NY6 bid. And they will.

Quick Thoughts
This offense is going to be tough to stop once again. QB Brady White, WR Damonte Coxie, and RB Kenneth Gainwell all return after massive 2019 campaigns. Add in the top offensive line in the AAC and getting back to 40ppg should be no problem.
The defense is in good hands with new DC Mike MacIntyre on board. MacIntyre has a lot of talent to work with too. The line brings back a wealth of experience with all three expected starters being seniors. The secondary has a top corner in T.J. Carter. Safety Sanchez Blake Jr. led the team in tackles and interceptions. Two starters return at linebacker my second rated LB unit in the AAC.
I have one loss for Memphis this season, UCF. The schedule features a trip to West Lafayette this season which will be a good test, but one that the Tigers should win. Memphis has a trip to SMU on the schedule, a team that UCF avoids. Top to bottom this team is ready to defend their AAC title.

Quick Thoughts
I need more out of Desmond Ridder for this team to be ahead of Memphis and UCF. Numbers trended down in many key categories. The Bearcats also fall short to UCF and Memphis at the skill positions. If they can find stability in Doaks and Ford at RB they should be in good shape. They will be running behind my second best line in the league.
The defense is what will keep this team in games once again. The line is going to be a problem for every team they face this season. The secondary is going to be special with all four starters back and healthy. Another AAC team with at top 20 nationally secondary. Linebacker is the lone question mark, but they will be solid there.
A trip to Lincoln, NE highlights the non-conference slate, a game that I have UC winning. AAC schedule is tough with trips to Temple, UCF, and SMU. They get Memphis at home. If the offense can improve in the passing game, they could jump into the top 2.

Quick Thoughts
Sam Buechele is back after a stellar 2019 season. One of his favorite targets, Reggie Roberson Jr, returns. Running back is the biggest downfall with the departures of Xavier Jones and Ke'Mon Freeman. Without a threat in the running game, this offense could take a step back. The line should help that attack with 4 of 5 starters back.
Last season I thought the defense would take a big step forward. The Ponies posted their best season since 2012. Now, they weren't great, but serviceable. Creating sacks was their specialty last season as they ranked #1 in the AAC in that category. The Mustangs received great news when LB Richard McBryde was granted a 6th year of eligibility. The secondary has a chance to be better with a bit more experience back there.
This team benefited from the AAC schedule last year by not having to play UCF. They got a gift again as they miss out on UCF and play Memphis and UC at home. With TCU at home this year, you might want to get season tickets. Don't be surprised if SMU gets to 10 wins with a bowl victory this season.

Quick Thoughts
2019 was ugly. Houston fans have already erased that season from their memory. They went from 43ppg to 30ppg. Biggest question is if Kyle Tune is the guy at QB. He has the weapons at WR to have success. Marquez Stevenson is one of the best in the league. The offensive line was banged up all year, they can't afford a repeat of that this year. Running back should be fine with Porter and Car returning.
Last season was another sluggish season for the defense. Stopping the pass was difficult for Houston as they allowed 288.4ypg last year. Four P5 transfer have arrived to solve that problem...hopefully. Linebacker won't be as bad as my 10th rated unit. (very tight unit race). The line should be strong with both DE returning.
Houston is in such a weird spot now. They looked like a team that could compete for the AAC title every year to now a team that is limbo of falling behind. Memphis, UCF, SMU and UC are all on the schedule this year. 6-6 would be a positive.

Quick Thoughts
This year's offense will improve on the 26.3ppg they put up last season. They are strong at both RB and WR with Jaden Blue (WR) and Re'Mahn Davis (RB) returning. The two combined for over 2,000 yards. Anthony Russo is back under center. With two years under his belt he should be primed for a big season. If he can find consistency and cut down on INTs this offense could soar.
Temple consistently puts out a strong defense. This year might be a tough year to keep that trend alive. They lose seven starters including several that moved on to the NFL. DE will be a challenge to replace as well as linebacker. Upfront they do have strength and depth at DT. The secondary could end up being the strength of this side of the ball with two starters back and depth.
Temple has a tough slate this year. Road games at Miami, Memphis, and UCF will be difficult. Despite the tough schedule this team should find its way to a bowl game.

Quick Thoughts
I love this offense! The only thing that could hinder their ability to be elite on this side of the ball is the offensive line. Last season they gave up 39 sacks. If they can improve, QB Zach Smith should be able to surpass 3,500 yards and 30 TDs. He has the weapons at WR to do it. Same Crawford Jr. and Keylon Stokes are one of the best duos in the league. Add in the running attack of Shamari Brooks and Corey Taylor and you have a dynamic offense. Again, o-line please be better this season.
Here's the biggest concern headed into 2020, the defense. The struggle was real, allowing 31ppg. Only 3 starters return from that squad. OLB Zaven Collins is the star of the defense. They need a lot of players to emerge this season in order to improve on last years numbers, I'm not sure that happens.
If the defense can just keep things from getting out of control, the offense should be able to pull out some games for Tulsa. The season opener vs Toledo will be a good barometer of where this team is. The schedule has Memphis off it and UC and SMU at home. They will see a bowl game in 2020, book it.

I really wanted to put ECU higher in the rankings, but I had to hold back. The offense is in good hands with Holton Ahlers at QB. This guys just makes plays. He will have all three starters returning at WR including standout, C.J. Johnson. Running back and offensive line are what held me back on my standings prediction. The line has potential, RB looks to be down this season. The key for this team will be to convert on red zone trips into to TDs. Last season they ranked last in the AAC in Red Zone TD conversion.
The defense was oathetic last season. They ranked 10th or worse in the AAC in nearly all categories. However, I see improvement on the horizon. The linebacking unit returns all three starters and will be the top unit on the team. The line is the worst unit on the team. They have to have a better push this season after not being able to stop the run a year ago. The secondary has a chance to be one of the better units in the AAC.
ECU will open up the season hosting Marshall. This will be a big for ECU. If they can get the W, This Pirate team will end up in a bowl.

I'm a little nervous about this pick. The offense has me concerned. Last years team is better than this one will be. Keon Howard is the likely starter. He had up and downs at Southern Miss and was benched 3 times. It is hard to believe he is going to flip the switch this season. The running attack will be one of the best in the AAC, but I'm not sure that is enough to get them over the hump this season.
The defense is stacked and ready to keep Tulane in games. Expect the line and linebackers to bounce back this season after a bit of a disappointing 2019 season. LB Patrick Johnson is ready to make big impacts again now that he is fully recovered. With such a strong front 6 the secondary should be in good shape.
Tulane has a tough road ahead to get to 7 wins again. Don't be surprised if they start the first half of the season with just two wins or less. This is my biggest wild card in the AAC, this will be a deciding year for Willie Fritz and Tulane.

-I will admit, I missed on Navy last season. Many did. But here I am again having them at 3 wins. Without Malcolm Perry at QB and no spring practice it is hard to see 2020 being successful for Navy. Add in replacing 3 starters on the line too. The skill spots are in good shape, but if QB and o-line aren't clicking it won't matter.
Navy had a strong defense last season. They did lose several of their top players from last years team though. All eyes will be on Mike Flowers at NT to see if he can fill that void. The key for this Navy D is winning the turnover battle which they did last season. They could be put in more tough spots this season with a struggling Navy offene though.
The conference schedule is favorable with UC and UCF off the slate. The non-conference schedule is brutal with Notre Dame and at Air Force. Army is on the slate as well in what should be a more competitive game this year. I see 6 wins max. I have the Midshipmen winning 3 though.

Jeff Scott enters as the HC. He missed out on Spring practice which would have benefited the Bulls in a big way. They had the worst offense in the AAC last season and will again this season. They have questions marks up and down the roster. This year will be to build for next season. Simple as that.
The defense does have some strong points in the secondary and at LB. The front will need to have more of an impact this season. Last season USF gave up 208ypg on the ground.
The good news is Bethune-Cookman is on the schedule for a W. The bad news is I don't see many coming after that game.
