ACC Basketball Predictions 2013-14
|
#1 Duke: Blue Devil fans are excited to have forwards Rodney Hood and Jabari Parker on campus. Hood was one of the most sought after transfers coming from Mississippi State. Jabari Parker is one of the top freshmen in the country. As for the players who return form last years team, Quinn Cook and Rasheed Sulaimon both averaged double-digit points last season. Two solid seniors will back them up, Tyler Thorton and Andre Dawkins. Keep an eye on Amile Jefferson for a potential breakthrough year.
#2 Syracuse: While they enter the year missing three key players from last year team, the Cuse will be solid. A lot of pressure will be on freshman point guard Tyler Ennis. Ennis comes in highly regarded and will get the job when he steps on campus. He will dishing out plenty of assists to C.J. Fair. Fair averaged 14.5 ppg last season and is stout on defense. Two returnees that will need to take a step up are Rakeem Christmas and DaJuan Coleman. #3 North Carolina: James Micheal McAdoo is back for another year. Micheal McAdoo will need to play well vs. stout competition, something he struggled last season. P. J, Hariston was all the talk this summer. Hariston is the Tar Heels best player and can score in bunches. Point Guard is locked down by sophomore Marcus Paige. As for freshmen, Isiah Hicks is the physical presence Tar Heel fans want and need. #4 Notre Dame: One of the top backcourts in the ACC with Jerian Grant and Eric Atkins. The two combine for 11 dimes a year ago and can score the ball at a high rate as well. Behind them sits Demetrius Jackson on the best incoming PG in the country. The key for the Irish will be the frontcourt play. If Tom Knight and Garrick Sherman can fill the void left by Jack Cooley the Irish will be dangerous. #5 Virginia #6 Boston College #7 Georgia Tech #8 Wake Forest #9 Pittsburgh #10 Maryland #11 Florida State #12 NC State #13 Miami #14 Clemson #15 Virginia Tech |
